Sir Elton John CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer-songwriter, composer and pianist.

Elton John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Elton John has been heavily involved in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s, and was knighted in 1998. Elton John entered into a civil partnership with David Furnish on 21 December 2005 and continues to be a champion for LGBT social movements.
